It’s 8 foot long, extremely durable, and plenty comfortable to use.
It’s everything you need in an ATG sled strap, and it’s significantly more affordable than the alternatives at around ~$50-$55.
I’ve personally used this sled strap (as it came with my BP-Sled 2.0) and I’m a massive fan.
It’s sturdy, comfortable, and does exactly what you need it to.
Anyone complaining about it being tight around the waist is simply whining!

This premium sled strap comes with a premium price tag of around $99, making it the most expensive option as well.
If you’re planning on doing as much sledding as Mr. 1NF1N1TY does, then comfort and durability are probably well worth paying a little extra for!

Great Option For Existing ATG Members
This is Ben Patrick’s very own sled strap, so you know it’s a quality piece of kit.
This sled strap will apparently still choke you a little around the waist, but it’s quite nicely padded so it’s still going to be pretty comfortable to use.
As far as price goes, this strap is around the middle of the range costing about $75. However if you’re an ATG member you can get 20% off which makes this a pretty good deal.
It is still going to be more expensive than the HGG sled strap, but it’s definitely more affordable than the Shogun strap.
Recommended Use
This sled strap is a great, premium choice particularly for existing ATG members who are entitled to a 20% discount.
Pros
- This strap has a good amount of padding, making it one of the more comfortable choices.
- Existing ATG members get 20% off.
Cons
- The strap does still choke around the waist, but this is a very minor issue.
- As with all the official ATG equipment, this product is definitely on the more expensive side.

Final Verdict?
The HGG sled waist strap is definitely going to be the most affordable option and is really all you need when it comes to sledding.
If you wanted a more premium feel when working with the sled, opt for either the Shogun sled strap or, if you’re already an ATG member, the ATG strap.

Our Experience Using Sled Straps
As someone who does the ATG training program, I’m pulling the sled at least 3-4 times a week, so I have a pretty good idea of what I’m talking about here.
Before I got my HGG sled waist strap, I’d been improvising using resistance bands and cheap straps that do a pretty horrific job if I’m being completely honest.
Now that I have a quality sled strap, the difference in comfort pulling the sled is simply night and day.
While the HGG strap worked very well, the Shogun strap is simply in a league of its own. Unparalleled comfort and I strongly believe this thing will last a lifetime!
Research Process
Researching this article wasn’t too difficult, since there’s really only 3 ATG sled straps on the market in total.
In order to find a 4th product you’d be looking at a Spud Inc belt + strap which is super expensive and not particularly well designed for the reverse sled pull, so I decided not to include that option in this roundup.
I compared these 3 products based primarily on price and comfort, in that order.
Comfort is nice to have, especially when you’re doing a lot of sledding, but it’s not the most important thing in the world…
I got by just fine for weeks using a thin nylon strap with absolutely zero give in it.
It would dig into my waist a lot, but it honestly didn’t bother me that much at all.
For that reason, I’ve strongly recommended the HGG strap which is comfortable enough and significantly more affordable than the others.
